Civil Rights Audit Statement

BOSTON, November 9, 2021 – State Street fully embraces the importance and value of diversity, equity and inclusion and is committed to playing a significant role in promoting and achieving each. From our call for gender equity in boardrooms to our July 2020 publicly-announced 10 Actions to Address Racism and Inequality, State Street has taken significant and meaningful steps toward improving itself, the portfolio companies in which our asset management arm invests, the communities in which we operate and society more generally.

As part of our commitment to transparency, accountability, and action, and following important and productive discussions with a range of internal and external stakeholders, State Street will undertake an external Civil Rights audit as the next step in strengthening our programs and initiatives. We hope other companies will approach diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives through a similar lens.
